A few months ago we blogged about the cutest flower girl we’ve ever seen … well, we can say that again. The flower girl in this real wedding stole our hearts immediately! But that isn’t all that makes us ‘die’ over this Houston wedding … Rachel’s bouquet is incredible, the BHLDN bridesmaid dresses are perfection, and the wedding cake that Wesley and Rachel chose is amazingly elegant. It’s all worth a STYLE or two … and we can’t wait to hear what you think about it!

Choosing Archetpye to photograph our wedding was the easiest decision throughout the entire process!
Koby and Terilyn went above and beyond in every way possible. Not only did they provide over the top photos, but they helped out in several other aspects of the wedding planning. They were there to answer questions, provide opinions, and help guide us every step of the way. They made us feel comfortable in front of the camera so that the photos were relaxed and natural. They truly did captured our love story through their beautiful images.
My momma always told me… Rachel, when you know something, you just know.. and that’s exactly how it was the day we found THE dress. The hunt for the dress was something that I anticipated would be more challenging than it was. I was not the bride who flipped through a dozen magazines, ripping out pictures of the dresses that caught my eye. We walked into our first bridal appointment at Joan Pillow Bridal and I still had no idea exactly what I was looking for. I started shuffling through dresses and ended up collecting several to try on. By the time we made it through the first aisle of dresses I had already picked 12, so we decided to make our way to the dressing room. It only took two dresses for me to have that “bridal moment”, the moment that moves you to tears and you envision exactly how you want to look and feel on your wedding day. I walked out of the dressing room and onto the podium, only to turn around and find my mother in tears. I put on the veil and I was sold, I had found the dress I wanted to wear when I became Mrs. Verret. It was simple, elegant, and flattering. Strapless, form fitting all the way to my knees with a big, dainty bow to give it some character. I wish I could wear that dress forever. That is how every girl deserves to feel on their wedding day.
Briscoe Manor was the perfect venue for us. It had a chapel and reception area on the facility and was just the right setting. The chapel was very warm and beautiful with a chic style: high limestone ceilings, wooden pews and an intimate altar. There is a gorgeous courtyard between the chapel and reception room, where fountains were illuminated with candles and string lights. The advantage of having an easy to work with staff made it very viable for us to visualize our special day and made the entire process seamless.
Soak up the experience. As much as you think it is stressful, you are at each other’s and other people’s throats and you want it to be over and be married already, you have to remember that there must be a bud before the rose. The moment will come so fast and your big day will become a blur if you let it, but make sure you make time to enjoy the planning process. Because like your wedding, you will only get one chance to experience it.
Behind the Bash catered our wedding. The food was fantastic and the service was unbelievable.
The guests started during the cocktail hour with passed hors d’oeuvres, made up of jumbo shrimp wrapped with hickory smoked bacon, spinach and parmesan stuffed mushrooms, and southwest rolls. The main course was served in stations so that our guests would have the opportunity to get up and mingle as they made their plates. The first station was a raw bar, including oysters on the half shell, snow crab claws, jumbo boiled shrimp, campechana shooters and assorted sushi rolls. The second station, a huge crowd pleaser, was the mac n cheese station. White truffle and jalapeno cheddar mac as the base, with an assortment of Andouille sausage, crispy prosciutto, bacon, Cajun shrimp, and bread crumbs to add on top. The final station had beef tenderloin with roasted shallot demi, horseradish cream, and market vegetables. Our favorite part came last, the midnight snack! Whataburger bags with breakfast taquitos and salsa. The bags were even customized with the words “what-a-night” on them, along with a big “RVW”. If you have not had Whataburger before, you don’t know what you are missing – they are the suppliers of the tastiest, most savory nibbles you will ever have after a long night of drinking and shaking your tail feather.
