See You At Midnight – New Year’s Eve Wedding Inspiration in Midnight Blue & Gold

I know I’ve said it before, and  I am sure I will say it again, because there really is no better time of year to get married thanNew Year! Naturally, as a New Year’s Eve bride myself I am completely biased, but NYE is all about celebrations and what better excuse for a big bash than a New Years Eve wedding? Just imagine everyone wearing their sparkliest sequins and party hats, champagne corks a popping and whooping it up with your nearest and dearest, finished off with a rollicking rendition of Auld Lang Syne….. and of course, the 31st of December is an anniversary date no-one will ever forget!

For a New Year’s Eve wedding no stop should remain unpulled! And, as last year I went timeless and elegant with a palette of black and gold, this year I decided to show you how to go for romantic glitz with this gorgeous palette of midnight blue, gold and the prettiest pale pink, all with more than a hint of Gatsby glamour! For a shindig that Jay himself would be proud to host think decadence and luxury with lashings of gold. Incorporate Art Deco flourishes into your stationery, flapper style pizazz into your bridesmaids outfits and of course plenty of champagne and yummy food for celebrations to continue well past midnight into the New Year…..

Create The Look Yourself

If you’re loving the Gatsby glamour and gorgeous hues in this inspiration board as much as I do, take a peek at what else I found to help you re-create the look for your big day…..

The Wedding Dress

If ever a date called for a wedding dress with wow, New Year’s Eve would be it! Think embroidery and embellishment, like the stunning Wisteria from BHLDN‘s Spring 2015 collection with its layers of tulle and gorgeous illusion neckline. Just imagine how you would you sparkle down the aisle…..

(oh and the rest of the collection is just as lovely so take a peek at the full thing here if you missed it earlier this month)
Or how about the Juniper wedding dress from Temperley London, oozing Art Deco decadence with its drop waist, exquisite embellishment and puddle train…..

Or if you would prefer something a little more lacey and long sleeved, how about this stunning design from Jesus Peiro…..

This is a palette that is just as pretty for your bridesmaids! With midnight blue, pink or gold, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to their dresses. And, whichever colour you choose your bridesmaids are guaranteed to love – or go with all three and create the prettiest mismatched bridal party ever! How lovely would your ladies look in this embellished gown from Adrianna Papell…..

The embellishment is just perfect for a glamorous New Year  (or any time of year!) wedding and Adrianna Papell dresses always come in the most fabulous selection of shades.

It’s All In The Details

A modern three piece suit in a dark shade of blue strikes just the right balance. Suave, sophisticated and with an air of vintage (waistcoats always evoke old world charm) they are also oh so wearable after the wedding. Just perfect for the dapper modern day groom looking for an alternative to the traditional hire suit!
Oh and make sure the party starts with a swing by gifting  your guests their first drink as a favour! I love these St-Germain shots that look lovely with a thoughtfully written tag…..

This is my third New Year’s Eve wedding inspiration board (you can see my first one here and last year’s here) but I think this one is my favourite! I just love the pop of pink in this colour palette, don’t you? I am not usually a pink girl myself, so if it’s not your thing either, why not take a look as some other ideas and wedding inspiration boards hereherehere, and here or pop across to Pinterest for I have LOTS more inspiration for you on Chic Vintage Brides New Years Wedding Pinterest board.
Well have a wonderful New Year! 2014 has been quite the year, and I can’t wait to see what 2015 has in store :)
Mr E and I are off to celebrate our anniversary!
